I am ashamed to say, that in my 32 years of life I have never really and truly been on a diet or an exercise program. In my younger years I was a great swimmer and tennis player and was pretty active. I was blessed with INCREDIBLE metabolism. Well. . .. .now I am in my 30's and my metabolism has slowed a little and when I look in the mirror I see about 10 pounds I would love to shed to have my old body back (doesn't every woman). I didn't know how to begin to be honest.
My husband Tim has struggled with his weight throughout our marriage and I've watched his exercise and diet payoff immensely, it has been awesome to see his results. He introduced me to a great program on our iPhone's called "Lose it", it is my new "best friend"
This little icon is on my phone:
When I clicked on it the first time I entered my personal information and my goals. My goal is to drop ten pounds by Spring Break. That goal only allows me a calorie budget of 1300 calories. I love how easy this program is. Every day I plug in what I've eaten and how much I've exercised/calories burned and it shows how I am doing for the day.
As far as working out I:
1). Walk the dog as often as the weather allows
2). Do Jillian's 30 day shred level 1 and level 2
3). Do Jillian Michaels Wii workout
My favorite is the 30 day shred. It has 3 circuits: strength, cardio and ab's and it rotates you through the 3 circuits 3 times. It is a great workout.
I've also dropped my Mt. Dew and Regular coke habit and replaced it with ALL water and 1 diet coke per day. I am not a coffee drinker to begin with so I don't worry about that.
It has really opened my eyes keeping track of my calories, boy was I doing a lot of things wrong before : )
So............ I'll update you on my progress. I'm so excited about the "Lose It" program and how user friendly it is - it really is brainless and I can't wait to see the results.
I'm in the exact same position. When I was younger I was into sports so I never had to worry about it. 2 kids later and in my 30's it's just not coming off as easily. I'm doing weight watchers and the 30 Day Shred. That thing kicks your butt, but in a good way. :)
